First, I just have to mention that I love that it is 7:23 am right now and Kallie is in her own bed sleeping while I blog. Usually on Saturay mornings we are up drinking apple juice or chocolate milk watching Dora the Explorer! Don't get me wrong but me waking up before her and sitting down to blog about life is pretty sweet too. Watch me jinx myself.

My dear, sweeet angel of a sister turned 30 on August 8th! So, for the past couple months her hubby and I have been secretly planning her a big party to celebrate. It's sort of funny actually because my dad's fiance's birthday is August 13th so we actually made her think we were throwing her a surprise party instead. Doesn't sound like it would work out very well without slipping up but it did. Dana, Rhett, Leyton, Nolan, my brother Cain, my brother, Gabe, an his girlfriend, Sarah, came in Friday night. Then my step-sis , Sydney, and her boyfriend, Reagan, came over for dinner and drinks to celebrate Tammy's real birthday day. I think it has actually been the first time we all have been in the same place at once. My step-bro Seth wasn't there so it wasn't completely complete but it was still very nice. Leyton, Nolan an Kallie had a total blast playing together.

Saturday Tammy, Dana, Kallie and I went out for a girl's day while according to what Dana believed to be the boys could get everything ready for Tammy's surprise party. We had so much fun getting pedicures, eating at La Madeline and shopping! Kallie had her first pedicure. It was so much fun and she was actually very well behaved for a 2 year old but after the fact I think I created a diva already.

We got back to the house at around 6:45 pm. It was a struggle because Tammy was trying to let Dana walk in first and vice versa. It was a struggle but Dana made it in first and she was COMPLETELY surprised. 3 of her best friends from high school came which made it AWESOME! It was a night full of friends, family, fajitas and cupcakes. Don't get me wrong it was fun to plan but I'm very happy it's over! Haha! Throwing a surprise party is very stressful!

Well, my birthday is Monday so I'm thinking today Kallie and I are going to go celebrate by getting birthday pedicures and going to Say It With Sugar for some sweet treats! My dad is making me his famous jumbo and I'm VERY excited about it! I will probably take it to lunch with me everyday this week! Yum good!

One of Kallie's favorite things to do is to help her Mommy and TaTa bake goodies and cook dinner! When we were in Canton a couple months ago we found an apron that was perfect for Kallie baby! I think tonight we will bake some of my famous Snickerdoodles for everyone at my office! She will love it!

Are you kidding me? I am a huge fan of GLEE and Charice but it's being reported that the girl is getting BOTOX for her run on the show! WHY???

I first heard her on Oprah and she has some serious chops! Like bring you to tears, give you chills chops and a super sad life story to go along with it. Her publicist is saying she got it because of TMJ in her jaw from chewing gum too much but I seriously doubt that. I also read that she feels she needs it to look better than Lea Michelle. This girl is going to ruin her career before it even starts. Having a young daughter I would not want her looking up to a young singer who feels like she needs Botox especially at her age to look prettier than another girl for a couple episodes on a television show.

I'm sort of over Charice already because of this and not really looking forward to seeing her on GLEE any longer.

My best friend since high school got married last weekend! The whole weekend was so amazing! Such an amazing event to be a part of!

Whitney asked me to stay with her Friday night at the hotel and then invited me to stay with her sister Saturday night after the wedding.

Friday I went over to Whitney's parents house to meet up with her, Laura (her sweet sister) and her Mom to head over to The Fairmont for her bridal luncheon. It was so much fun. All of her bridesmaids, house party, Cody's mom, and her three aunt's were there. It was so yummy and nice!

Afterwards a couple of us went to get manicures and pedicures. It was so nice to just sit, relax and catch up with Whitney.

We then went to our hotel room to get ready for the wedding rehearsal and rehearsal dinner. Rehearsal dinner was at El Fenix in downtown Dallas. The food was wonderful and so were the margarita's! Laura, Lauren and I had 4!!! I know! They were little! ;-) Laura and I both blame all our drinks on our speeches! Laura gave her speech of course because she was the maid of honor! Maybe my margarita's gave me the guts to to get up and say something about Whitney! It was actually easy to think of what to say about her because she is the nicest person I know! I was still super nervous but it was a lot of fun!

Saturday morning Whitney, Laura and I lounged around watching some TLC in bed and chatting about good 'ol Rockwall until around 12:00 when all the ladies started getting there to get ready for Whitney's big day! It was so much fun! We ate sandwiches and cupcakes and then got our hair and make-up done! A perfect girls afternoon!

We headed over to The Meyerson Symphony Center around 4:00 to get in our dresses and to take pictures. The wedding began around 6:15! It was such a wonderful ceremony. Everything fell into place and was beautiful! I think I cried through half of it! I'm so happy that Whitney married the man of her dreams! I could see how much in love Cody was with her!

Wishful Wednesday...Easter

'I wish' .... I could re-live one Easter memory from my childhood, and it would be the Easter from last year, Kallie's 1st Easter!

I remember being so excited about Kallie's Easter basket! I got it from Pottery Barn Kids. So cute! She has to have the coolest one around of course! Looking at all these old pictures makes me want to cry because she has grown SO MUCH!!!

Tomorrow is our first Thursday Play date! We are so excited because a bunch of my friends from high school who have kiddos are getting together to eat fun food, paint Easter eggs and have an Easter egg hunt! I am so excited for Kallie to make new friends! Especially with girls kiddos that I have memories with! Should have lots of cute pictures to share!

Kallie will be at her daddy's this year for Easter which I am sad about but I'm going to go ahead and give her Easter basket on Friday morning! The weekend should still be fun because both my brothers are coming in! Haven't seen Gabe the Babe in a while!

Sorry I have been a BAD blogger & blog reader the past couple weeks. I will be getting back to blogging per usual & reading every one's blogs again soon! Been a busy working bee & momma!

SSSSOOOO...today over at The Undomestic Momma it's time for Top 2 Tuesday! Today we are talking random things about ourselves!

1) I want to be an actress. I've always dreamed of doing it and I'm finally going to take the plunge and get head shots done. I've been on an episode of Friday Night Lights back while I was in college and just did an episode of The Deep End. I did a lot of theater in high school & college as well. I'm super excited about it!

2) I used to LOVE to bake but sort of stopped doing it the past couple years. Now that Kallie is here she is a cupcake LOVER so I have started baking a whole lot more these days.

I recently made these little lovelies (Black Forest Cupcakes) for one of my best friends for when his sister was here visiting. They were AMAZING! I even put cherries in the middle of the cupcake & it made them SUPER moist! I'm craving one now! :-)

It's time for Top 2 Tuesday over at The Undomestic Momma...and here too! :-)

The obvious answers to this would be Kallie baby and my family! But I'm going to do the little things that I can't live without to not get all mushy about them!

1) Starbucks! I love it! I have to have it! I try and not spend TOO much money on it. I go probably 2 times a week. It used to be a WHOLE LOT worse than that about going. I'm talking twice in one day. I would still do this if it wasn't so expensive.

My favorite drinks you ask? In no order...

Kallie has been at her daddy's for spring break for the last week! She was supposed to come home tonight but it SNOWED last night and the roads were pretty bad today so she isn't getting home until tomorrow! I know tell me about it! I can't wait to see my little sweet pea!

While she was gone I decided that I would paint her bathroom. She's starting potty training this week so I thought it would be fun to give her own, cute little bathroom to "celebrate!" What do y'all think?!?!

I used an eggshell color to paint the walls. I then printed black and white pictures of her from her bath times. I framed them in red and yellow frames that match her rubber ducky shower curtain.

Before she left I showed her her new toilet. She LOVED it! She wants to set n it ALL the time. Right before her daddy picked her up she tried to pick it up and carry it in front of the TV to sit on. She's a character for sure! :-)

'I wish'...I could win the lottery REAL soon, and I would hope to continue working but go full time working for myself.

I started my own company called kallie ko. kreations. I would want to invest in opening my own store, hire a few designers and someone who knows their stuff about speciality paper. Maybe even start making my own paper. A girl can dream. I plan on doing this all one day but it would happen a whole lot faster if I won the lottery REAL soon!

So if you haven't read my blog EVER or as of late you wouldn't know that my other half...Kallie...is at her daddys this week for spring break. I'm in SUPER SAD mode right now because I miss her SO MUCH! I can't wait to see that sweet smile and get a kissy kiss from her! :-( ANYWAYS.... I'm using the time while she's away to get our lives super organized. So far I have painted her bathroom and organized our closet. I'm sort of in the middle of organizing our bedroom. Right now we are living at my dads so he can help me with her (and which he does a TON!) and so I can get my life back on track so we sort of have to share a bedroom.

I'm one of those zen people who think that my room needs to be COMPLETELY organized in order to get the rest of my life ORGANIZED. I will have it done by the time Sunday @ 6 pm rolls around. That's when I'll see those beautiful blue eyes again.

So organization everything has been tempting me...these are a few items...

That is what I did today and I am EXHAUSTED now! I think yesterday may be catching up with me now though. I painted Kallie's bathroom (I'll post pictures after I finish decorating!) and then decided I needed to organize my closet. I was up until 2 am. He! I haven't finished the closet yet either but it could have been considered a disaster area and now it could be put into a semi organized category. I woke up pretty early though today in order to go get a new battery for my car and then to go meet this pretty below.

That is Katherine, also referred to as Aunt Ka Ka by Kallie, my best friend from UT. She is in for spring break visiting her boyfriend who lives in Dallas. Kat lives in Austin....too far!!! We went to lunch at Luna De Noche at Northpark. I don't think it's possible to not LOVE that mall! They have EVERYTHING! I hit up Paper Source to stock up for lots of orders for kallie ko. kreations! Got a pair of jeans at Express...some new 7 For All Mankind's...:-) and a cute little top too! I wasn't going to get the 7's but they were SO PERFECT! I put them back and then ran back and got them before I checked out! 7's are my LOVES!!!

Now a little nap before I start working on a couple designs I have deadline's for!!! :-)

I have this problem called SPONTANEOUS HAIR CUTTING. It is a HUGE problem. I FINALLY get my hair to a length that is considerably long and I see some celeb or cute SHORT haircut and I MUST have it the very next day or even that night. I did that with my bangs. I saw a pic of someone who had cute bangs and I instantly thought, "Wow, I want that look!" Not even thinking maybe it won't look as cute on me.

Spring Break...

This is probably the first year I am NOT looking forward to spring break. I don't really have a spring break anymore but Kallie does. This year her dad gets to keep her. I know he is looking forward to it and it's probably good that she gets to spend time with him but I'm upset about it anyways. He picks her up tonight at 6 and I get her back NEXT Sunday night at 6. I think I will be okay through the weekend but when Monday morning rolls around I think it will be a little rough for me. 9 WHOLE DAYS!!! Away from my baby! I'm going to try and fill up my days with so much stuff to do. Tomorrow I have my fitting for my best friend from high school's bridesmaid dresses with her and all her bridesmaids. We are going to brunch first at La Madeline. Then next Friday my best friend from college, Katherine, and I are having a girls day full of pedicures and shopping! So 2 days out of the 9 are taken care of. I'm going to be super busy with kallie ko. kreations so that should take up some time. Wish a mommy luck?!?!

Top 2 Tuesday...Names

Over @ The Undomestic Momma it's Tuesday and that means it's...

This week's subject is names. Wow. I have SO MANY! Of course if you don't know already I have a little girl. Her name is Kallie Ann-Marie. Her dad chose her name. He told me he liked the name Callie and that is the name of one of my best friend's little sister's so of course I loved it too. We changed the C to a K. I sort of chose the middle name. Ann is after my Mom's mom, my grandma, Kallie's GiGi. Ann is her middle name. Marie is after my mom and sister, Dana. Marie is their middle name. Now I wish I would have named her Kallie Dawn but I'm not going to change it now that she's 1 1/2! Haha! My mom's first name was Dawn.

Ok so now for my future babies names...I think I would like to have 3 total. I come from 4 and LOVE having so many siblings. Dana, Gabe and Cain...I LOVE all of our names. I want to give Kallie what I have so you never know.

GIRLS:
GemmaA college friend of mine dated a girl named Gemma in college and I feel in love with her name.
EliseElise is my middle name and I used to want to go by it because people would BUTCHER my name so much. When you're in the 4th grade and you have lots of boy crushes and your teacher keeps calling you MICHAEL it gets a little traumatising. My first name is Mykla.

BOYS:
DeclanI just love this name. I used to watch this show called Kyle XY (I know...dork) and there was this guy on there whose characters name was Declan. I just think it's a beautiful name.
KeaneIf Kallie was a boy we were going to name her Keane. It's after the band if you've ever heard of them. The reason why we spelt Kallie with K is because if we ever had a boy we wanted them to have matching names. That will never happen but I still love the name. :-)

I HEART SPRING

Spring is one of my favorite seasons! Pretty much because of the super cute sundresses and sandals...for myself...but mainly for Kallie! I did a little shopping for her while she was at her dad's this past weekend. Now we just have to wait until spring actually makes it's full appearance.

Aren't they all so cute? (Flower sandals are Osh Gosh B'gosh and the rest are all Old Navy!) She LOVED the pink jellies! So much so that she wanted to sleep with them on last night. Don't worry I took them off after she fell asleep. She wanted to wear them to school today too. She wore them with socks because it was still a little chilly out. I know, fashion foe paw. She's 1 1/2...she gets what she wants most of the time.

I'm thinking I'm going to get her some rain boots, rain jacket and an umbrella. I have this feeling it's going to be raining a lot this spring. Might get me some rain boots as well!

I hope to be able to completely provide for my family in all ways I can!

Crystal Bowersox....IS the next American Idol!!!

The title of this blog may not be true (YET...I HOPE)! BUT she is my favorite for sure! I'm so glad she got well enough to perform last night because she was AWESOME! She doesn't have the typical look of an AMERICAN IDOL but shes got that whole Woodstock/hippie chic vibe and sound going on and I LOVE it! She is so talented! She doesn't have to force anything like all the other contestants seem to have to in order to sort of sound good. I hope she gets well enough to make it through that gruelling process and take care of her precious baby boy! I love seeing mommies who make it big to give their babies a better life! Rooting and voting for you Crystal! This weekend is my Nana's birthday party and we are having it at my Aunt Janie and Uncle Eddie's house. He knows everything about Woodstock and that era of time dealing with music and he watches American Idol. I'm very excited to hear what he has to say about her.

To me none of the other contestants are even in the running...maybe Paige...and the Mohawk story girl but they aren't memorable enough to me. Andrew Garcia is pretty good too if I had to pick a guy. Wishful Wednesday...Olympics

It's Wednesday so that means it's time for Wishful Wednesday over at The Seattle Smith's...

'I wish' .... I could have gone to the 2010 Winter Olympics to see one event, and it would have been alpine skiing!

Men's super combined to be exact! I watched Bode Miller win the GOLD for the USA! It was pretty awesome! I love the olympics because you feel like you win too when they do! They look so happy and proud! Of themselves and their country! Not going to lie...Bode Miller is pretty cute too! :-)

Kal got her 2nd haircut yesterday! I was trying to grow her bangs out but ponytails everyday with a 1 1/2 year old is a lot more complicated than it looks! Especially when she pulls them out 10 times a day. The hairdresser said it's not good for their hair at that age to wear ponytails everyday I felt a lot better about cutting it. I can't get over how different she looks with bangs! Cute as always of course!

Excuse my lack of make-up! My face looked so puffy without it for some reason.

1) ZEUS Boutique
They have ALL my favorite brands! Especially when it comes to jeans! 7 for all Mankind, Citizens of Humanity, Rock & Republic, True Religion and William Rast. I hopefully will be purchasing some William Rast skinnys I tried on a couple weeks ago there soon! I feel super hot in them! :-) There are a couple stores in the Dallas area. The one I shop at is at Firewheel Mall in Garland. There is one in Rockwall and in Uptown that I know of!

2) Francesca's

You can't go wrong with this store! I ALWAYS find something I love here! I love shopping here in the spring because they have awesome dresses. I usually buy all my girlfriends presents here as well or a gift card for them. Even when I can't afford anything too expensive they have great sales and they have super cute frames, cards and nic-nac type stuff to decorate with! I maybe taking a trip this weekend! :-)

I have decide to start my own business! AND I am SO EXCITED! What is it you ask?

kallie ko. kreations is inspired by...yep...you go it...this little one right here...

I've always been pretty "kreative"... I even got MOST CREATIVE my senior year of high school! I was very excited about that at the time. Still sort of proud of it I guess! :-) I sort of stopped being crafty the last couple years until Kallie came along. She inspired me to start doing creative things for her and so forth I named my company after my little bundle of joy.

kallie ko. kreations is a custom design business specializing in invitations, announcements, stationery and more! More being anything your little heart desires. You give a special occasion, business, etc. you would need something like an invitation or announcement for and I whip something "kreative" up for you. If you like a design I have already created I can change the text or pictures especially for you! I do business cards and logos as well! I was an advertising major in college people!

I have a few designs up right now but plan to add more and more in the days to come! I just mailed off my first order to a lovely lady for a baby shower! Book Review: Something Borrowed by Emily Giffin

It took me awhile to finish this novel. It wasn't boring, I just made the mistake of reading Something Blue beforehand. Something Blue is the sequel to Something Borrowed. I'll explain.

When I read a novel I feel like I become best friend's with the main character. I developed a friendship with Darcy before Rachel. I know, book nerd here. I heard Darcy's side of the story before Rachel's. I guess I was sort of mad at Rachel after reading Darcy's story. I was on Darcy's side at first. Now that I've heard both sides I actually think I like Rachel better. I mean, if she were actually real, I would be friends with her in real life, but not so much Darcy. I don't want to give anything away so I'm just going to say that I love Emily Giffin's writing. I feel like she takes real life situations and puts them into her writing of a Chic Lit novel.

From now oh I will read book series in order and I will be reading her Love the One Your With and Baby Proof very soon.

BONUS: They are making a movie out of Something Borrowed. Ginnifer Goodwin (He's Just Not That Into You, Big Love) will be playing Rachel and I've also heard that Dex, Darcy's fiancé, will be played by Peter Facinelli (aka Dr. Carlisle Cullen from Twilight). I will be there opening night!

It's Wishful Wednesday over at The Seattle Smith's...

'I wish'...I could play a character's role in a book and it would be Allie Hamilton in The Notebook.

I would have loved to live in the 40's and wear all the outfits that Allie Hamilton wore. It's also amazing love story. Allie Hamilton was played by Rachel McAdams in the movie and I love her. She is just beautiful and super talented! I go to the theater to see pretty much every movie she is in. Last but not least she gets Noah Calhoun in the book and the movie. Noah is played by Ryan Gosling. HANDSOME! Rachel also dated Ryan for awhile. I secretly hope they get back together because it would be a great love story them being part of such an amazing novel and movie.

Young Noah: We can just finish out the summer and see what happens then.
Young Allie: Please don't do this, you don't mean it. Oh why wait until the summer ends? Why don't you do it right now?
[pushes Noah against car]
Young Allie: Huh? C'mon. Do it! Do it!

I performed this scene in one of my theater classes in college. I got an A+ on the performance!

1) Criminal Minds

What can I say? I don't miss the show. I dvr every single episode that comes on. I've been a little obsessed recently and now I walk around thinking everyone is crazy. Seriously. My dryer broke so I've been having to go to the laundry mat in order to have clean clothes. Today I walked in and I was the only person in there other than the creepy guy that works there. I instantly thought this is a Criminal Minds episode waiting to happen. It especially creeped me out when the guy came out and stood behind me to watch the tv. I watched him in the tv the whole time to make sure he wasn't going to do anything. I will not be going back there.

I've developed a little crush on one of the actors. Matthew Gray Gubler who plays Dr. Spencer Reid. A little too thin for my taste but still a hottie. In a super nerdy kind of way.

2) GLEE

Hello? Have you been living under a rock? Who doesn't know about this show? I worked at Dallas Summer Musicals ever summer of my college life so I'm pretty much a musical geek...or GLEEK I should say. These kids are amazingly talented. If there is one thing I would LOVE for Kallie to be it is a performer like these kiddos. Lea Michele aka Rachel Berry is my favorite for sure. The girls got a voice that could kill. She grew up on broadway...think Les Mis and Spring Awakening! The girl ROCKS! She's gorgeous too! The show's not on right now because of American Idol! Boo! It will be back afterwards!

This past weekend Kallie & I went down to Austin with my dad and Tammy to go to Leyton's 4th birthday party! We had a blast at Chuck E. Cheese! Kallie is getting to the age where she enjoys riding the baby rides...not so much the games...or Chuck E.! Every time he came near her she started freaking out! Maybe that means she will stay away from the rats! He!

That place was PACKED! Every time we would go to a new baby ride some kid would jump right in front of us! I think my dad and Tammy were more into the games than most of the kids. My best friend from college came by to see us and wish Leyton a happy birthday! Katherine is such a great friend and Aunt Ka Ka to Kallie!

Overall Leyton had a fantastic birthday party! It started at 12:00 and they had us out of "the birthday area" by 1:30! They are on a system there! He didn't even have time to open his presents! I was very impressed that he was so patient to open them up at home!

We pretty much just relaxed at my sister and bro-in-laws house all weekend watching the winter Olympics. I want to go skiing now! Kallie followed Leyton around ALL WEEKEND! She loves her big cousin! She also loves her baby cousin Nolan. He is such a sweet baby! He loves the camera. Every time I pulled my camera out he SMILED and POSED! So sweet! He must know he's rocking the baby blue eyes!

So, I am going back to school in May for sure! I want to go back full time so I have decided to start my own business in order to do this. I have played with a couple names but it's all inspired by my little one Kallie so I thought her name should be included! So the name is kallie ko. kreations! Do you like? What is it you ask? Well, I've always been a pretty creative person and I LOVE to do arts and crafts so it will be specializing in custom designed invitations, announcements, logos and blogs! I will also be doing hand-crafted as well as photoshop/illustrator creations. I have been playing around with my own blog and can say I designed this myself! HTML is a science for sure! Lots of fun trying to figure it all out though! So if you like for a short period of time I will be designing blogs for people for FREE in order to get some practice. 1) Bead Head TIGI Superficial Smoothing Liquid For Shiny, Silky Hair - I have to say I'm in LOVE with this product. A friend gave it to me and I will probably not go another day of my life without it. It really does make your hair shiny & silky! Sorry the bottle looks a little funny! He! He!

2) M-A-C Cosmetics Studio Finish SPF 35 Concealer - This is a little container of MIRACLE! I get really bad sacks under my eyes these days and this makes it disappear!

3) Biosilk Silk Therapy - This stuff makes my hair super straight! After the CHI attacks it but it keeps it safe all the while!

4) M-A-C Cosmetics Eye Shadow in Pink Freeze - I wear this color usually when I go out but I love all their eye shadows. Now only if I had the guts to wear them all the time.

5) Maybelline New York LASH Stiletto Mascara in Very Black - Makes my lashes feel full and very dark! Can't go wrong with black!

Top 5 Celebrity Men

1) Eric Dane - McSteamy! Yummy! I just watched him on Ellen! Super hottie! I am so excited that they are doing so much more with his character on Grey's Anatomy! All the men on that show are beautiful but I think he deserves the #1 spot!

2) Zac Efron - He's a couple years younger than me but I fell in love with him in Hairspray. Such a cutie. He sort of reminds me of my brother which means we could never be together and makes him even more creepy.

3) Bradley Cooper - Renee Zellwegger is just not cute enough for him. Those eyes of his make me melt. Most men would like to be considered handsome but he is more than that...he is a BEAUTIFUL man!

4) Channing Tatum - I've always loved him and I think he has a cute personality. He used to be a stripper too. Ha! Ha! Makes him even better!

5) Matt Long - Know who he is? He was the young version of Johnny Blaze on Ghostrider and Amanda Bynes love interest in Sydney White. This guy is gorgeous! I am on an episode of the new show The Deep End...I think it comes on tomorrow actually. (My part got cut so I may not even be in it but hopefully some of my background shots will be! :-)) I walked into him like 15 times on set and he is the sweetest guy. One time I even caught him looking at me while the director was talking to the cast. :-) Too bad he's married! Boo!

1) York Peppermint Patties - They are an addiction of mine...and Kallie's too. They give you that fresh, breezy feeling after you put them in your mouth!

2) Stacy's Pita Chips - I cant even describe how good these are! I love pita chips!

3) Diet Dr. Pepper or Diet Coke - I crave one all the time. I give them up for short periods of time. I did really well a couple months ago. I went a whole 5 months without one. Damn Cheesecake Factory screwed me up. I was about to cry one day when I was working there and I thought it would make me feel better so I drank a little sip and I've been downhill ever since. It did work in that moment though so I guess that's a plus!

4) Starbucks - I've been really good about this one recently. I can't even remember the last time I had a latte or machiatto. Now I want one. They can just get really expensive!

5) OREO Double Stuf Golden Cookies - I give Kallie one after school everyday and I give myself one or two as well! ;-)

1) Justin Timberlake - The man is talented. He looks like Kallie's dad so that's not a good thing. I hear he cheats on Jessica Biel too. What an idiot. He's talented though.

2) Rihanna - Love her music not so much a fan of her though. Pretty sure the only reason she dropped Chris Brown was because her Agent and Manager made her. I heard Justin Timberlake cheated on Jessica Biel with her. I'll stop there.

3) John Mayer - LOVE his music but I think he's a complete idiot and womanizer. Jennifer Aniston needs to run for the hills when it comes to him. Did you hear what he said about Jessica Simpson? DUMBA$$!!!

4) Carrie Underwood - Love me some America Idol and she's country. Beautiful too! Just some bragging rights here...My dance instructor, Kim Barnard, growing up choreographed her music video for Cowboy Casanova AND a little girl, Erin Mallory, Dana and I used to babysit for is in the video too! Pretty freaking cool!

5) Black Eyed Peas - Fergie is AWESOME and so is the rest of the group! I love everyone of their songs and so does Kallie. She dances to all of them. Her favorite is I Gotta Feeling!

1) The Glass Castle: A Memoir by Jeanette Walls. This true life story is amazing. I'm really into memoirs. I'm writing one myself.

2) Twilight Series by Stephenie Meyer. YES.I.LOVE.THEM.ALL!!! I even love the fan fiction with the characters even more. Fan fiction is where FANS write their own stories using characters from their favorite books. They have some good ones out there with Bella & Edward!

3) Bergdorf Blondes by Plum Skyes. Doesn't she have the cutest name ever? I wonder if that's her real name?!?! Her other book The Debutante Divorcee is next on my reading list.

4) Twenties Girl by Sophie Kinsella. She's awesome! I love all of her books. Confessions of a Shopaholic ring a bell? She wrote it. Some of her other good ones: The Undomestic Goddess, Can You Keep A Secret? & Remember Me?.

5) Something Blue by Emily Giffin. I love all her books as well. I'm reading Something Borrowed right now. It's taking me a time to get through it but I've been busy. There making it into a movie! Hilary Swank is going to be in it!

14 Days of VDay Love: Day 12, 13 and 14

Sorry for the delay of LOVE days! We TEXANS were sort of snowed in Thursday, snowed in for sure Friday so Kallie has been home with me so I really don't blog when my hands are full with the little miss! So, I'm just going to do a quick run down of day 12 and 13 then a bit on TODAY!

What would have been day 12:

MARGARITAS!!!!!

They are my second love I do believe. (Not really but I do LOVE them...with salt!) Tequila and I are not friends usually but when it's in a MARGARITA we are the best of friends. I actually just had one and I'm a bit of a lightweight so I'm feeling good right about now!

What would have been day 13:

Anything having to do with CRAFTS. This is Kallie's Valentine's card.

I got most creative in high school. Yep, me, right here. I've FINALLY decided what I'm going to do with my life and it has to do with the crafts. Starting my own paper design company. Invitations, announcements, logos and blogs! Soon and very soon. Taking a view classes in photoshop. Anyone good at it? Hit me up!

I just made my good friend Ryan a birthday card that is BADA$$ in my opinion but he hasn't gotten it yet and I don't know if he reads this blog so when he does get it I will post pictures. Happy birthday Ryan! Yep, a Valentine's baby!

Day 14:

KALLIE BABY!

This girl makes my life complete! I can't even imagine life without this sweet girl. She makes everything better in life. When we woke up this morning I surprised her with her Valentine goodies.

I got her Valentine coloring books, crayons, heart shaped bracelets in a little mailbox to keep them in, a new cute plate and cup and I made her that sweet card above.

She loved it of course. She wanted to color ALL day long!

We went to see her Na Na at the nursing home tonight. She loves to go see Na Na. Everyone at her nursing home LOVES her. We went to eat dinner afterwards with my dad and step-mom. On the way home she DID NOT want to sleep so we practiced saying words. She's pretty much got Gabe, Cain, Dana, Rhett, Ley Ley (Leyton), No No (Nolan), Sydney, Seth, Katherine, Pa Pa, Ta Ta, Ma Ma (OF COURSE) down flat! Such a smart baby! She can say and point to her hair, head, eyes, nose, mouth, cheeks, heart, belly, fingers, toes, feet, arm and legs! I taught her knees and chin tonight! We will have to practice those! I am SO impressed with her daycare teaching her these things! I will be giving them kudos tomorrow morning!

Overall Kallie was the best Valentine EVER!!!!

14 Days of VDay Love: Day 11

My Sister

How could I not LOVE my sister?!?! Pretty sure EVERYONE LOVES her! She's pretty freaking cool! :-)

She's older than me by almost exactly 3 years. Both August babies! Growing up we were very different but still enjoyed the same things like softball, dance and TV shows. We would come home everyday from school and watch The Mickey Mouse Club (the Keri Russell and Justin Timberlake days) and Kids Incorporated! Some nights we would stay up super late and watch The Love Boat! Ha! Ha!

While Dana was in high school I was the little sister who would ALWAYS take her clothes! I always thought I was giving her a compliment by wearing her clothes! He! He! Her and her husband still give me crap for this!

We didn't get really close until her freshman year of college, my freshman year of high school. I think it was because we knew it was our last chance. She lived at home and went to the high community college there.

She moved to Austin and went to the University of Texas at Austin where she became a Delta Gamma. When I became a freshman at UT, I also became a DG. She was there for my entire rush experience.

I have ALWAYS looked up to my sister. Through thick and then, smiles and cries. Even if I was a brat sometimes. I look up to her even more now that she is a mother. She is the most amazing mother. I just hope I'm half as good a mother as she is. Hopefully now I'm a little like her. I see so much of our mother in her.

I've always LOVED pizza but it really never became a PROBLEM until I got pregnant with Kallie baby. I thought after I had her that the cravings would disappear but I was WRONG! I eat about a pizza a week! No lie! I have no idea how I'm still skinny. I'm trying to be better about this.

I'm not really one of those take-out or delivery types. I'm all about the Digiorno or Freschetta. It's cheaper that way too! :-)

I'm starting to crave one as we speak...

SNOW DAY..!!

This NEVER happens in East Texas..!! We have 4 inches of snow outside! It is so beautiful! I wish it would do this all day long! So far so good!

I kept Kallie out of school today because I figured the roads would get bad later today and I would have to get her early anyways! She is taking a long nap right now! She loved playing in the snow this morning!

14 Days of VDay Love: Day 8

Sorry this one is a day late. Kallie was not fully understanding why she should go to sleep last night. She wanted to lay in bed with me and play with the web cam. Those pictures will be included in Day 9...today! Then when I put it away I let her lay in bed until she fell asleep. She has this new thing where she will lay there and say "babies"....which coming from her lovely little mouth sounds more like "BABBB-ISA" over and over again!

Felicity

You could say that I'm a Felicity expert. I own all four seasons on dvd and I've probably seen each and every episode ten times. Could be more. Sad I guess but I LOVE me some Felicity. I'm pretty sure I never missed an episode when it came on the WB back in the day either. My sister, Dana, and I would watch it each week. Keri Russell (who plays Felicity) reminds me of my sister. One reason I love the show. Another reason why I love it is because she lived the college life that I wanted. I mean the living in NYC and being an art major. I usually watch it on depressing days or when I miss Dana.

The sad part about this picture of Keri Russell is that I can tell you at what season this is in and what she is saying. Okay, I'll tell you....season 2...she's telling Ben (Scott Speedman) that he's too much of coward to actually be with her. Ah...I may have to watch this tonight!

Another reason why I LOVE this show. Ben (Scott Speedman) is the love of my life. He just doesn't know it.

For those of you who don't know, Felicity is where Jennifer Garner got her start! I LOVE her! She met her first husband Scott Foley (Noel) on the set of this show.

I LOVE Amanda Foreman (Meghan)! She plays Felicity's freshman year roommate. They despise each other the first year but by the end up being best friends!

Amy Jo Johnson (Julie) is the only character I DID NOT LIKE! Just don't get me started. I think she's fake. Maybe if Ben hadn't chose her before he chose Felicity I wouldn;t despise her so much.

I'm pretty sure people find me annoying when it comes to this show. If I ever see anyone who was once on this show I say, "Oh they were on Felicity!" If they were a good character I LOVE them and if they were bad I don't like them. Haha! I'm set in my ways! :-)

If you haven't seen it you should Netflix every season ASAP!

My dad is the sweetest human being I know! He has a heart of gold and does anything he can for his friends and family. Especially his kids. He has been through so much in his life and works hard everyday and deserves so much in life. I love him so much.

Gabe is just like my dad. The ladies love him because he is so sweet and is always there for you no matter what. It's so funny because Gabe and I use to fight ALL the time when we were little. Our mom would tell us every time that one day we would be best friends. She was so right! I don't get to see him as much as I would like but I'm so proud of him while he works and goes to school.

Cain is just as sweet as my dad and Gabe with a twist! Ha! Ha! He's the baby boy of the family so he usually gets his way! We are alike in this way! :-) Cain is super laid back and I can always count on him to go with me to the movies or help me with any thing technical. He always solves my phone and computer problems! I love my baby brother so much.

Rhett is my sister, Dana's, husband. I don't even remember life without him in it. We fight just like brother and sister, it's pretty amazing actually. I can always count on him to back me up and support me no matter what. He has so much faith in me. I'll always have a special bond with Rhett because he drove me home from college the day my mom past away. He's a pretty great guy!

Leyton is the coolest little man around! He loves his cousin Kallie like she is his own. He actually calls her "his baby" and "his Kallie!" It's the cutest thing around! Kallie loves him just as much!He is known for being pretty witty and cracking everyone up! He has this special talent of making any bad situation instantly okay.

Nolan is the newest man in my life. He is my almost 1-year old nephew. He is the sweetest baby. Built like a football player. I am not kidding. The kid is pure muscle. I was in Austin one weekend and helped Dana take the boys to the doctor. While Leyton was getting his flu shot I held Nolan. He bounced up and down for 5 minutes in my lap. CONSTANTLY! Noe that is a workout. My sister and I are not big girls. I do not see how my sister does it everyday. She's a superwoman. She really is though! I am very excited that Kallie and Nolan are so close in age. They will be in the same grade growing up.

I was lucky enough to be there for both of my nephews births. Not in the room or anything but it's now a family joke that anytime Dana is pregnant and ready to have the baby that I need to be in town in order to be in town. They say this because both my nephews were born early! Pretty funny stories actually! I'll share them one day! :-)

All around the coolest grandpa a girl can have. He is simply amazing. I feel like he is such an intelligent man and I always love for him to talk about anything. He makes a mean Cosmo and his scrambled eggs are the best around! Being around him always makes me feel like my mom is there too, which is a pretty great feeling!

I count my lucky stars to have ALL these men in my life. The man I eventually marry will be pretty lucky to be in the same category as them! The other thing I love about all of them is how they are with my Kallie baby! They all love her to pieces as she does them!

My Grandparent's House

My favorite place in all the world is my grandparent's house in Tyler, Texas. It is always a good time there with all my family. The holidays are always so much fun with my mom's side of the family. They have a sun room there with these couches and a chair. I love sitting on these and catching up with my grandma, grandpa, brothers, sister, aunts, uncles and cousins. I've spent many a day and night talking, drinking, crying and laughing in that room.

(These are not in order..haha..so Kal changes age throughout!)

My grandma is also the best cook around. I know a lot of people say that but I'm not kidding! She is! I probably gain 5 pounds every weekend I spend there! Here are two of my favorites that she is pretty much famous for!

D-Lo's Sausage Bread

*Jimmy Dean's Sausage (2 rolls - 1 Hot & 1 Mild)
*green onions (1/2 c chopped)
*green bell pepper (1/2 c chopped)
*2 loaves of Italian or Cuban Bread unsliced
*Monterrey Pepper Jack Cheese (1 block shredded)
*2 tbsp butter
*garlic powder
*Foil
*Pam

Brown the sausage in a pan over Med heat. Once sausage is done, add green onions and peppers - saute all together for about 5 minutes. Set aside. Slice the loaves of bread lengthwise but not all the way through and place each on separate pieces of foil sprayed with Pam- You will eventually wrap them up in the foil and place in oven - the Pam helps it to not stick. I then rip out some of the bread on the inside of the bread to make room for the sausage mixture. Place sausage mixture on bottom half of bread loaves, then top with shredded cheese. Close loaves. Melt butter and a sprinkle of garlic powder in microwave for about 20 seconds - lightly brush over the tops of the bread loaves. Wrap them up in foil, back on 350 for 35 - 40 minutes.

D-Lo's Shrimp Feta Linguine

*Bell Pepper chopped fine - about 1/2 - 3/4 the pepper
*Green onion chopped fine - about 3 stalks
*Garlic chopped fine - I put in about a tbsp but….Chad and I are garlic fiends so, you may want to 1/2 this amount and just do one clove
*Olive oil - about 2 tbsp, enough to coat the pan
*Can Diced Tomatoes - do not drain
*Can Rotel - do not drain
*Shrimp about 1.5 to 2 lbs Raw - peeled and deveined
*White wine - anything dry, go for cheap chardonnay - cheap wine is fine if you're cooking with it
•Oregano - about 1 -2 tsp
•Feta - I use the whole container and will get the tomato & basil flavored kind if they have it but, plain is fine too
•Pasta noodles - you can go for the whole wheat variety if you want to be healthy but, normal stuff is fine too

OK - I usually do this in one pot - like a bigger stock pot - Go ahead and chop/dice up your green pepper, green onions and garlic.

Heat the olive oil over med lo to med heat and add the chopped up pepper/onions/garlic. Sauté until they are cooked - about 10 minutes, constantly

stirring so they do not burn. Add the can of tomatoes and Rotel (don't drain) and let that simmer over med -lo to med heat for about 15 minutess. You can add a sprinkling of salt and pepper here to taste.

Now, add your raw shrimp and 1 cup of the white wine and sprinkle in your oregano and feta - keep some of the feta to sprinkle on top when you serve.

Only cook until the shrimp are done (about 5 - 7 minutes) - you will know when they are pink, they are ready…..don't cook too long or they will be rubbery.

Serve over linguine, sprinkle feta on top - and I would do garlic bread and a Cesar salad - YUM :)

Someone special introduced me to this restaurant a couple months ago and I have been a fan ever since. I crave it all the time. No necessarily the food (although it is delicious) but the drinks! They have the best drinks around! They taste AMAZING but what they come in adds so much more.

Rum Giggle
(for two people) A libation of light rum, amaretto and juices. For lovers only.
This is my FAVORITE. I crave these on a weekly basis.

Rum Keg
(for four people) Potent blend of light and dark rums, liqueur and tropical fruits, served in a keg.

Hot Buttered Rum
Toast the Caribbean. Dark, rich rums and tropical fruits make this a potent but palatable drink.

Tiki Bowl
(for two people) Delightful punch served in an earthen bowl supported by three tikis replicas of authentic Tahitian gods.

Queen's Park Swizzle
Toast the Caribbean. Dark, rich rums and tropical fruits make this a potent but palatable drink. This glass makes for interesting conversation! Ha! Ha!

Menehune Juice
Secret blend of light island rum and nectar's. One sip and you may see a Menehune. The one in your glass is yours to take home.
I'll be getting one the next time I go so I can take a Menehune home with me!

Dr. Funk's Son
Super chilled rum, lime juice and more rum. Worse than the father.
I haven't had this drink before but I love the glass it's in!

Wahine
The perfect blend of rum and vodka. Served in a ceramic coconut. Isn't it cute?!?!

Navy Grog
A truly great drink! A blend of fine rums and tropical fruits with an accent of pimento.

We went about a couple weeks ago to find the doors CLOSED at 10:00 at night! We were very upset to say the least. Apparently they closed due to a pipe bursting and causing a ton of damage. After doing some research recently they will be opening their doors again soon! Thank goodness!! Hope to be visiting in the near future!

That is Kallie's name at daycare. They play music all day long and she dances ALL DAY LONG. It is the cutest thing. She does it sitting and standing! When standing she usually just shakes her hips from side to side but she does it very dramatically! Her little butt is so cute when she does it. When she sitting in her car seat and the music on the radio comes on, especially "I Gotta Feeling" by the Black Eyed Peas, she shakes her legs and throws her arms in the air. The other thing that is so cute about it is that she is grinning from ear to ear! She LOVES to be the center of attention! She beams like sunshine when all eyes are on her! I LOVE my little DANCING QUEEN!!!

Barnes and Noble Bookstore Days

I go to the bookstore as much as I possible can. I'm sort of obsessed with it actually. I actually park on different sides of the store so the people who work there don't see me. The music department is on one side and they always look up and say hello when you walk in. Don't get me wrong, I think it's super nice of them but I'm pretty sure they say sometimes, "This girl might as well work here!" I like to spread out which doors I use to enter and exit the store. I know, I'm weird.

I usually don't buy anything. I guess that's why I don't like the people who work there to notice how much I'm there. I go get my weekly magazines and pick out some books that I'm interested in. Then, I go to the Starbucks in the store and get a tall skinny Marble Mocha Macchiato. They only make those at the Starbucks in the store. It's awesome. Okay, and sometimes I get either a bagel with cream cheese or a red velvet cupcake. Guilty.

I can spend ALL DAY in there. I actually have before. I LOVE IT!! He! He! They are really cool about letting you read magazines and books. Yes, sometimes I do purchase stuff. Usually books though.

VENTING: It does really get on my nerves when someone is in there talking on their cell phone. Now, I get it if it's a fast phone call but to sit there and have an hour long conversation as loud as humanly possible is a little ridiculous. This lady sat across from me the other day and just gabbed, gabbed and gabbed. I made it pretty clear she was annoying me. It's like a freaking library. Stephanie Tanner said it best..."HOW RUDE!!!"

Kallie Baby Babel

I LOVE everything that Kallie baby babels! Shes really starting to develop her speech. She is in an amazing daycare that teaches her so much! I can really tell how well they take care of and teach the kids in her class. They are so well behaved when I drop her off and pick her up. The class is 13-18 months. A lot of the older kids can really talk well. Kallie's best friend, Sienna, is a couple months older can even say Kallie's name. Kallie calls herself Ka Ka. She calls my friend Katherine Ka Ka as well!

She of course says Ma Ma, Da Da, Pa Pa and Ta Ta. Ka Ka for Kallie and Miss Katherine. We are practicing Ley Ley for her cousin Leyton and No No for her cousin Nolan. There is an old photo album in our living room with old photos that she just has to look at every night when she gets home from school. She goes straight to it usually when she walks in the door. I'm going to make her an album with individual pictures with their names of all of our family and friends. Maybe this will help her learn the people who love her!

She also has what I call baby alien talk! Ha! Ha! She just talks and talks and talks to herself. Doesn't make any sense to me but seems to make her happy all the while! It's too cute!

I'm not too big on the whole Valentine thing. Probably because I don't have a Valentine persay. Yeah it sucks but it's LIFE. So, I've decided I'm going to dedicate the next 14 days blogging about things that I LOVE.

Day 1 will have to be my television show addictions. Very happy the CW created these two shows.

LIFE UNEXPECTED

I totally love this new show.

Fifteen year-old Lux (Brittany Robertson)has spent her life going from foster family to foster family. She has finally decided to become an emancipated minor. During her journey through the legal maze, Lux finds her biological father, 30-something Nate "Baze" Bazile (Kristoffer Polaha), who lives above a bar and is astonished to learn he has a daughter. Lux learns that her mother is Cate Cassidy (Shiri Appleby), a star on local radio, along with her boyfriend, Ryan Thomas (Kerr Smith). A judge decides to grant temporary custody of Lux to Baze and Cate instead of emancipating her.

Brittany Robertson plays the middle child in the movie Dan in Real Life. She is great in that movie so when I saw that she was going to be in this show I had to watch it. Now I'm addicted. Kristoffer Polaha and Kerr Smith arent bad on the eyes either. It's a super cute show.

THE VAMPIRE DIARIES

About a high school girl, Elena (Nina Dobrev), torn between two vampire brothers, Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Damon (Ian Somerhalder). Love sucks!

I fall in the category of Twilight fans. I'm not like a crazy fan but I love the whole vampire thing. The first season so far has had Elena and Stefan in a relationship but the tides are starting to turn. This one also has some lookers with Paul Wesley and Ian Somerhalder. Matthew Davis just joined the cast as Alaric Saltzman. I've loved him since Blue Crush.

I guess you can SEE why I love these new television shows so much.

Friday night my dad, Tammy, Sydney, Nancy, Kallie and I went to Santa's Village in Richardson. It was lots of fun for Kallie. Lots of Christmas lights and holiday joy. Kallie wasn't really fond of some of the costumes. She started screaming as soon as she sat eyes on Frosty the Snowman. She's usually never like that. The line was WAY too long to see Santa so we will probably go see him soon!

Kallie's Fall School Picture

Kallie had her fall school picture taken last Thursday and I already have the proof! I was very excited when they told me they had the proof! I'm all about Kallie and pictures! I believe they were ready on Monday but Kallie baby and I were sick! Boo! I picked her up from school Friday and her eye was all swollen...like right before pink eye! It looked better that night but I woke up with it Saturday morning. Not fun! She also ran a fever all weekend and on Monday. I believe that was due to the fact that she had two teeth come in. We are fully recovered now but it's not having pink eye yourself and a one year old with it as well! The life of single parenting!

This year was Kallie's first trick-or-treating Halloween! Kallie was a kitty this year and she looked adorable! After this year her costumes are going to be challenge because she looked so cute! Next year she will be able to tell me what she wants to be. I dressed up as well! I just used my old cheerleading uniform and added a little scary to it! We went to my Aunt Janie & Uncle Eddie's house in Arlington to trick-or-treat around their neighborhood and answer the door to trick-or-treaters after we were done. Can't wait for next year already!

So, last night I got this crazy idea to run a half marathon?!?! The Texas Half Marathon to be exact. Yeah, I know. I've been a runner since my sophomore year of college, off and on. I've always told myself that one day I want to run in a full marathon, that's right, 26.2 miles, so I guess I need to start somewhere. Yeah, I should probably run in a 5k first but honestly I know I can do a half marathon. My aunts (Stacy, Mykla and Ash) ran in a marathon a couple of months ago so it's really been on my mind to do this. Also, my life has sort of been in a rut the past year or so and I want something to get me going and I figured this could help me believe in myself more. I drove around the neighborhood early this morning to map out my runs. What I have been running is 2.1 miles... I honestly tought it was more than that so I have my work cut out for me. I'm already in pretty good shape so I'm super excited about what my runs are going to do for me. I won't feel so bad for eating pizza either! :-) Don't worry, Kallie will be joinging for most of my runs. We have an awesome jogging stroller. She gets a little impatient after 2 miles so we will have to figure something out.

I'm going to use this blog to track myself. I will also blog about Kalie baby. Sorry I've been bad about that the past couple of months. Today I'm taking her to the pumpkin patch after I pick her up from school so I will post pictures!

So, as you all probably know by now I threw Kallie a cupcake party for her first birthday! Here she is on one of my favorite blogs Cupcakes Take The Cake with her cupcake cake I made her!!! So exciting!

Tyler Trip

This past weekend Kallie and I went to visit my grandma Woods & Kallie's Gigi! It was the best trip!

Kallie cried the entire trip up there. I even had to pull over at a truck stop, which is pretty scary when it's just you and a baby, to make sure she was okay. She was fine though! She just doesn't like to sit in the backseat by herself. The rest of the trip she sat in her carseat, crossed her feet and stuck out her lips. She was mad but she makes it look so cute!

When we got there Gigi had made my favorite meal! Shrimp Linguini! It is to die for! I was a happy girl! ;-) The next day she took me to my favorite places in Tyler. Marshall's, Barnes & Noble and Jason's Deli for lunch. We went home to watch the Texs Longhorn football game and then went to Mercado's for dinner! I got some pictures of Kallie in her Longhorn cheerleader outfit from Uncle Rhett, Aunt Dana, Leyton and Nolan. She wouldn't let me get any good shots because she wanted to play under the kitchen table! Sunday we woke up to Gigi's famous sausage bread and mimosa's! I think I gained like 2 pounds! Crazy! My grandpa Woods, Kallie's other Paw Paw, had just gotten in from a weekend in Nacogdoches. I was very excited she got to see him.

When we left I took Kallie to see my mom at the cemetary. I think Kallie remembered having been there because she walked right up to my mom's tombstone. It was very sweet. We decided to leave her a picture of Kallie baby.

Kallie was great on the way home and we are going to have to make the trip again very soon! We love Gigi, Paw Paw, angel grandma Dawn and Tyler!

Here are some pictures from Kallie's 1st birthday party! They are sort of out of order but still lots of fun! Her part has been a week long extravaganza ending with another party today her daddy is throwing her so I will have more pictures soon! We also celebrated on her actually birthday too so I will post those as well! She loved her party and by the end was a tired little girl! She got lots of clothes, books & toys! Family & friends are amazing!

My Silly Girl

Kallie taught herself how to climb up onto her rocking chair! Let's say fun for mommy! NOT! She was pretty funny about it though because I would get her down and she would just climb right back up! She also decided she wanted everything around her to be up there with her as well! Her books, her stuffed animals, her bed spread, mommy's cardigan... one thing would fall off and she would make sure to get right back up there! My silly girl!

Also, the other day she was trying to sit in her bumbo chair and couldn't quite figure it out...it was pretty funny!

Wow! I'm 26! Honestly, I don't feel that old but I am! Craziness!!!

Sunday was the best birthday I've had by far! Kallie and I were going to sleep in but the little misses alarm clock went off at 7:00 am! I was wanting donuts on my birthday so I took Kallie for her first donut run! I got her chocolate & sprinkled covered donut holes! She LOVED them! :)

My dad and Tammy took us to my new favorite mexican food restaurant in McKinney called Aparicio's. SO GOOD! They have the best shrimp enchiladas and frozan mango margarita's! YUM! The had a magician that showed us some of his tricks which were pretty neat! Kallie's eyes were glued to him the entire time! She amazes me at how well behaved she is when we go out to eat! He made her a balloon animal! Odie from Garfield! I threw it away as soon as we left because I was scared she would pop it in her face or choke on it.

The rest of the day Kallie and I took naps and enjoyed some of my ice cream birthday cake from Baskin Robbins! Yum again! Tammy made my second favorite meal she cooks for dinner too! Ricotta filled soft shells with red sauce! Meatloaf and mashed potatoes are my first favorite but she had already made that a couple days before.

I loved getting to spend my special day with the most special girl in the world! I am so blessed!

Yesterday my dad and me took Kallie for her first haircut! It was very exciting for Mommy but she didn't seem too excited about it! That is until the hair dresser tickled her with the brush! Kallie baby is so funny!

I am enjoying planning Kallie's birthday party! Look at the fun stuff I've found so far!

Super cute I know! I'm ordering this for her to wear! I was going to do the whole tutu thing but my girl is going to want to play on the slides and all at the park, especially since Leyton will be there!

Kelly's Korner - Show Us Your Life - Baby Shower

This is the first "Show Us Your Life" I have participated in but I am an avid reader over at Kelly's Korner. Kallie had some of the best baby showers and I just had to share them with everyone. I'm also including the baby shower I threw for my nephew, Nolan!

Kallie's Rockwall Baby Shower

There really wasn't a theme other than that is was girlie! Which I love! My best friend from high school threw it for Kallie and I at her parents house in Rockwall. She had the best idea I've ever heard of! She had everyone that attended make Kallie a birthday card for every year until she is 18! The thing is she or I cannot open it until that birthday! Pretty cool!

Kallie's Austin Baby Shower

There really wasn't a theme for this baby shower either but my sister did such a great job! She had laid out diapers for everyone to write notes on so when I would change Kallie's diaper I would have cute little reminders of how great being a mom is! I went to The University of Texas at Austin so some of my friends from college were there and they wrote little things about longhorns and hook 'em! So cute! Dana also made Kallie and I a basket full of cool things that we would need! She did such a wonderful job! Now I use the tin to hold all of Kallie's stuffed animals! It is so great!

Nolan's Rockwall Baby Shower

I threw Dana and my nephew, Nolan, a cowboy themed baby shower in Rockwall! It was so much fun! We got a cute cowboy cake and decorated it all cowboy themed. Kallie and my nephew, Leyton, were all decked out in cowgirl and cowboy stuff. I made Nolan a basket like Dana made Kallie except with cowboy themed presents. It was lots of fun!

Party Planning Mode

Kallie's 1st Birthday is less than a month away and I am so excited! I am in full on party planning mode! The theme is CUPCAKES...and now that I have been looking up everything there is about cupcakes I am craving them 24/7! Yes, I'm even dreaming about them.

My friend, Natalia, and I are going to hit up Sprinkles Cupcakes this week in Dallas! I've never been but someone recently told me that I need to check them out. I found this really cute shirt on their website that I'm thinking about getting to wear to the party. What do you think?

I don't want to share anything I'm doing for her party just yet because I want everyone to be suprised when they come!

SORRY! BAD BLOGGER HERE!

I'll just do a huge update for everyone! I promise to TRY and be a better blogger but I just have been so busy! Which is a great thing!

KALLIE UPDATES:

She is now 11 months old! Can you believe it? Crazy, I know! She has taken her first couple of steps but isn't fully "walking" just yet! I think it is just that she doesn't trust herself. She does stand up in one spot for a long period of time!
She is starting to get the whole kiss thing too! She was sitting in front of a mirror and didn't know I was watching and she kissed herself. It was SO CUTE! I went over and did the same thing and she just laughed at me!

She is talking a lot more! Her personality is coming out more and more every day and it is so cute!

Her hair is get so long! Kallie, her daddy and I are going to get her first haircut on Tuesday! Nervous excited mom here!

She also has 4 teeth completely in and 2 more teeth mkaing their way through! She doesn't even look like a baby anymore. Oh Kallie girl!

I am now in full-blown birthday planning mode for the BIG 1 next month! I'll post her invitation next week after I know everyone has gotten theirs. The are so freaking cute! I'm such a dork mom! I also started shopping on Friday for her birthday! Her first Build-A-Bear! That is a really cute store. I can't wait until she is old enough to enjoy it. I'm trying to spread out buying all her presents over the next month so I don't spend a ton all at one time!

Kallie had her first babysitter! I was very nervous but all went well! She kept sending me picture updates like every hour so I slowly relaxed throughout the night. I will use her again for sure!

I am so excited about the new jogging stroller I got Kallie yesterday! I walk/run with her almost everyday but have been using a used stroller and am just now able to afford the one I have wanted since she born! Well, she wouldn't have fit in it when she was born but I've been eyeing it since then. It is so AWESOME! I got the Jeep Liberty jogging stoller! We went for a run after I got home from work today! She laughed the first half and slept the second! I think we both love it! :)

She was a little tired after our 4 mile run! :)

Sorry it has been so long since I posted! I'm working pretty much three jobs, being a mommy to Kallie (my favorite!), The Audio Visual Management Group & The Cheesecake Factory! I've been crazy busy! We are doing really well and I'm just so thankful to God for the things He does in my life! This has been the best/worst year and a half of my life and for so long I did not see the workings that God was doing but my life is becoming clearer. Here are some pictures from the past couple of weeks. I'll try and be better about posting!
